Celebrate spring at the Neighborhood Roots Food Collective annual Plant and Seed Swap! We’ll exchange our extra seeds, plant starts, and perennial divisions as we get ready for the new gardening season.
After the swap, master gardener Emma Schneider will teach a workshop, “Recognizing and Attracting Beneficial Insects – Finding your Allies and Encouraging Them to Stick Around”. The average backyard is home to thousands of insects, but only a small percentage of these are destructive. Many are harmless and some are actually beneficial. Learn which insects are beneficial, understand how they help out in the garden, and find ways to encourage the helpers to stick around.
Come for the workshop, the swap, or both. This event is a fun gathering where we can reconnect with neighbors after the long winter, learn some new skills, and come away with garden goodies!
This event is free to attend. Donations to support the work of Neighborhood Roots will be happily accepted.
