Fall Prevention Tai Chi
February 12, 2026 @ 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM
DonationThis class introduces the Tai Chi for Fall Prevention sequence starting from the very beginning. Regularly practicing the slow, rhythmic movements of Tai Chi smooths out stiff joints, improves balance, and promotes a sense of well-being. The class specifically improves balance and confidence in movement in a safe, easy-to-master program that one can do even seated, if necessary. This program benefits anyone from age 50 upward interested in maintaining their vitality.
Instructor, Leah Gessner, is certified by Tai Chi Vermont, a non-profit organization that promotes the Falls Prevention Tai Chi program and trains instructors throughout the state. Guilford Cares does not charge for these classes. (Of course, Guilford Cares always welcomes donations.)
You only need some comfortable loose clothing and a yen for adventure. You will find yourself in the company of welcoming neighbors enjoying oiling up their joints, rejuvenating muscle tone, and laughing some in the process.
