GUILFORD — Two candidates are on the ballot for a three-year seat on the Guilford Select Board and three candidates are on the ballot for a two-year seat.
GUILFORD — For one of the new owners of the Guilford Country Store, Ali West, stepping into the store is a return to her roots.
GUILFORD — The Guilford Country Store has been closed since the end of last year, but the new owners are promising to have it reopened on Feb. 1.
GUILFORD — During a special meeting held Thursday morning, the Guilford Select Board denied that Assistant Town Administrator Sheila Morse had violated Vermont’s open meeting law by contacting the town’s attorney for advice.
GUILFORD — The annual Write Action Potluck Picnic will be held Saturday from noon to 4 at 640 Melendy Hill Road in Guilford. A highlight is the open reading, with five-minute slots for poems or short prose.
GUILFORD FAIR — The Guilford Fair was first held on Labor Day Sept. 7, 1942, and except for one year during the war, a rainy day in the 1970s and the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been held every year since.
MONTPELIER — Vermonters must pass the basic hunter education course before they can purchase their first hunting license. Vermont’s volunteer hunter education instructors are now holding a limited number of courses throughout the state.
GUILFORD — Guilford Cares will sponsor a Carpenter Hill Trail Walk on Tuesday, Aug. 9, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
GUILFORD — A crew from Vermont Natural Homes recently delivered and assembled timber frames for a pavilion for a new new Guilford Community Park. The timber frame pavilion will be 24×48. The pavilion is phase one of the Guilford Community Park project which will also include the seventh circuit labyrinth play spaces, a basketball area, and and possibly EV charging stations.
